Introduction to Famous Mounts
Excuse me, Mr.Liu. Could you tell me why it is called the Yellow Mountain?
Well, it used to be called Mount Yishan. Leg-end has it that Yellow Emperor once came here to become an immortal. Then in the year 747, Emperor Li Longji of the Tang Dynasty strongly believed this legend and decreed that the name of the mountain be changed into Mount Huangshan or Yellow Mountain.
That’s really interesting. But what is Mt. Huangshan famous for?
I’m sure we will get there today. Oh, here we are entering the North Sea Scenic Area. This scenic area extends from Bright Summit Peak in the south to Refreshing Terrace in the north, and from Begging-to-Believe Peak in the east to Fallen Rock from the Sky in the West. It is the best known spot of the whole area, offering spectacular scenes. Here is a crossroad. If you look to the right, you can see the picturesque Begging-to-Believe Peak.
How is mount Taishan?
Oh, it was out of my imagination!
Yes. Mount Taishan is a perfect example of the kind of mountain resort that embodies natural scenery and cultural heritage.
Tell something about it.
It boasts numerous exotic rock formations, water-falls, age-old pine trees, stone bridges, temples and halls. The sights there are so beautiful.
I’d like to visit there too.
I’m on your side.
