    “Lower”的意思是“較低的, 下級的, 下等的, 下游的”。 與“l(fā)ower”合成的詞很多，比較常見的有：“l(fā)ower class”（下層社會）、“Lower House”（下議院）和“l(fā)ower jaw”（下頜）。
    “低收入家庭”中的“家庭”用“household”來表示，而不是“family”。它們之間的差別在于，“household”是一個更為寬泛的概念。
