英文書信通常由七個部分組成。它們是:信頭(Heading)、信內(nèi)地址(Inside Address)、稱呼(Salutation),正文(Body of Letter)、結(jié)束語(:Complimentary)、簽名(Signature)、附言(Postscript)
書信稱呼(Salutation)
對不相識的男子,單數(shù)常用Sir,Dear Sir或My Dear Sir(比Dear Sir更客氣);復(fù)數(shù)常用Dear Sirs或(Gentlemen。對不相識的女子,單數(shù)常用Madam或My Dear Madam;復(fù)數(shù)常用Mesdames或My Dear Mesdames?;蚝唵蔚貙憺門o Whom It May Concern(負(fù)責(zé)人,即有關(guān)人士)即可。
* 對比較熟識的男子,普遍稱Dear Mr….即可。對比較熟識的女子,普遍稱Dear Mrs.(或:Miss.)...即可。
* 熟人和親屬之間通信,可用下列稱呼(按親密程度遞增的順序排列):Dear David.Dearest David;My dearest David;My dearest;Darling David;My darling;My very own darling等。
* 有頭銜的可以把頭銜放在名稱前,如Pro)f.Nickerson,Dr. Liu,Gen.Chang等。
信的正文(Body of Letter)
信的正文是信的主體,信的中心所在,應(yīng)在稱呼下方隔兩行開始寫。每段的開頭要向右縮進(jìn)五到八個字母。寫信和寫文章一樣,要分段寫,每一段有一個中心思想。內(nèi)容要表達(dá)清楚,語言要簡單明了,態(tài)度要誠懇禮貌。給親友的信還應(yīng)該親切熱情??荚嚂r,經(jīng)常要求考生把指定的內(nèi)容寫進(jìn)信中。
結(jié)束語(Complimentary)
在信的正文寫完后,應(yīng)當(dāng)有致敬的結(jié)束語。結(jié)束語是寫信人對收信人的謙稱,寫在正文下面兩三行處的右側(cè),從中間寫起,第一個詞的開頭字母要大寫,末尾用逗號,其后應(yīng)留有四個字母左右的空間。
注意事項:
謙稱有尊卑、親疏之分,要與收信人的稱謂相配合。信尾的謙稱、致敬語好像中國書信結(jié)尾的“敬上”、“此致敬禮”、“拜上"或“頓首"等等。
