As a teenager, I went to the same place on holiday every year with my family and a few others families with kids roughly the same age. We all went to the same campsite, each family setting up their tents in a small plot near each of the other families, so that everyone could gather in the middle and the kids could easily play together. What I really loved about these holidays was the diving rock. We would walk across to the little lake up in the mountains. Once there, the adults would sit around talking in the sun while the kids played together in the water. The youngest children had to stay in the shallows in view of the adults, but the rest of us walked further around the lake until we came to a huge rock that jutted out into the middle of the lake.
