- Experience innovative and diverse technologies

Program Mechanics – The Dow I/S Apprenticeship Program
Dow I/S Apprenticeship Program is a flexible and immersive workplace development program for university students. The program provides students a chance to experience real-life workplace challenges by embedding each apprentice under a fully functioning I/S team. To maximize learning and engagement in the workplace, each apprentice will be assigned a mentor and team leader who will provide regular mentoring and supervision to help them succeed in their task and get the most out of the program.
The program opens in the spring of 2016 and the students spend 6 – 9 months on average in the program on a part-time basis typically for 3 days (or 24 hours) a week with some flexibility allowed in consideration for the student’s needs and study priorities.

The program is open to students at their senior year of study, who have a sincere interest and potential in the field of Information Technology. Great talents in Engineering, Sciences, Mathematics, Information Technology and other related disciplines are preferred. And we also welcome those with other backgrounds to join as long as they can demonstrate necessary IT knowledge/skills. The I/S Apprenticeship Program
- Play a real role in a real project
The program immerses the I/S apprentice in a real team environment. We offer a variety of possible I/S roles based on real project needs. Some examples of I/S roles include Test Specialist, Software Engineer, Implementation Specialist, and Technology Management Specialist among others.
- Experience innovative and diverse technologies
We also provide the chance to get exposure on a broad range of technologies such as Windows Server, Sharepoint, Visual Studio, System & Web development technologies, and mobile applications technologies such as iOS, Android. In addition, there are also opportunities for exposure to large enterprise systems such SAP, and our many corporate applications running on Windows, Mainframe, VMS and Cloud-based platforms.
A meaningful and fruitful experience
To maximize learning and engagement in the workplace, each apprentice will be assigned a mentor who will provide regular mentoring and supervision to help them succeed in their task and get the most out of the program.
Qualifications
The Dow I/S Apprenticeship program welcomes students with the following qualifications to apply:
- Graduate in 2017 or 2018 with background in Engineering, Sciences, Mathematics, Information Technology and other related disciplines will be preferred
- Interest and enthusiasm for Information Technology
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to work in a global team environment
- High degree of initiative – ready to work, ready to invent
- Good command of English language
- Able to commit to the program’s time commitment (3 days a week)
(Since this is a long-term internship and the working location is Shanghai, we appreciate the students can take this factor into account and able to commit the location availability as required.)
IT disciplines are not a necessity to join us – training and coaching will be provided to help you achieve a meaningful and fruitful experience in this program.
Program Mechanics – The Dow I/S Apprenticeship Program
Dow I/S Apprenticeship Program is a flexible and immersive workplace development program for university students. The program provides students a chance to experience real-life workplace challenges by embedding each apprentice under a fully functioning I/S team. To maximize learning and engagement in the workplace, each apprentice will be assigned a mentor and team leader who will provide regular mentoring and supervision to help them succeed in their task and get the most out of the program.
The program opens in the spring of 2016 and the students spend 6 – 9 months on average in the program on a part-time basis typically for 3 days (or 24 hours) a week with some flexibility allowed in consideration for the student’s needs and study priorities.
