     a lot of progress.
    laurance--No,I'm not.I try and try and I still can't
     speak it very well.
    soony--Learning any language takes a lot of effort.
     But don't give up.Why don't we practice those
     dialogs together?
    laurance--Good idea.That just might help.

    1）give up=stop trying,不再做努力。與keep up trying是一對反義詞組。
    2）make progress：是固定搭配。意思是取得進步/進展
    3）take a lot of effort:take在這里有“需要”“花費”的意思。
