Some people are in favor of the idea of over-consumption. They point out the fact that China's rapid economic development has materially enriched the lives of ordinary Chinese people, and at the same time increased our demands as consumers. They also argue that the rising consumption helps drive economic growth.
    However, other people stand on a different ground. They consider it harmful to consume more than what their family can afford. They firmly point out that the dogged pursuit for more accounts for our debts, anxiety, waste and overload. An example can back up this arguement: The American financial crisis caused by over consumption made the people of the world worse off.
    There is some truth in both arguements. But I think the disadvantages of over-consumption outweigh the advantages. In addititon to the above-mentioned negative effects, the surging consuming demand threatens to exhaust our resources and spoil our environment.
    To conclude, our government is advocating ideas of "conservation-minded society" and sustainable development. Whether due to sense of guilt about waste, or a simple desire to save money, we need to promote sustainable consumption.
    有些人贊成過(guò)度消費(fèi)這個(gè)主意。他們指出，中國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)的快速發(fā)展豐富了普通中國(guó)人的生活，同時(shí)也增加了我們作為消費(fèi)者的需求。他們還認(rèn)為，消費(fèi)的增長(zhǎng)有助于推動(dòng)經(jīng)濟(jì)增長(zhǎng)。
    然而，其他人站在不同的立場(chǎng)上。他們認(rèn)為消費(fèi)超過(guò)他們的家庭能買(mǎi)得起的東西是有害的。他們堅(jiān)定地指出，固執(zhí)地追求我們的債務(wù)，更多的帳戶(hù)焦慮，浪費(fèi)和過(guò)載。一個(gè)例子可以支持這一觀(guān)點(diǎn)：美國(guó)金融危機(jī)引起的過(guò)度消費(fèi)讓全世界的人們更糟。
    雙方的觀(guān)點(diǎn)都有一定道理。但我認(rèn)為過(guò)度消費(fèi)的缺點(diǎn)大于優(yōu)點(diǎn)。另外上述負(fù)面影響，高漲的消費(fèi)需求會(huì)耗盡我們的資源，破壞我們的環(huán)境。
    最后，我們的政府倡導(dǎo)“節(jié)約型社會(huì)”和“可持續(xù)發(fā)展”的理念。不管是關(guān)于浪費(fèi)的愧疚感，或?yàn)榱耸″X(qián)，我們需要促進(jìn)可持續(xù)消費(fèi)。
