什么是面熟生詞
面熟生詞，是冰冰在備考GRE時(shí)自己發(fā)明的一個(gè)詞匯問題。上過強(qiáng)化班的同學(xué)應(yīng)該記得，我在課堂上總結(jié)過5類詞匯問題：第一，同反義詞;第二，重要詞根詞綴;第三，熟詞僻意;第四，詞義誤讀;第五，就是面熟生詞。今天就想跟大家開個(gè)頭，也算是為冰冰詞匯課堂系列文章寫出第一篇文章。
面熟生詞，顧名思義，就是這個(gè)單詞有些部分你認(rèn)識(shí)，或者每個(gè)部分你認(rèn)識(shí)，可是合起來就不知道什么意思了。這些單詞是我們在背誦詞匯時(shí)，容易忽略的單詞，為什么呢?因?yàn)槟阋谎蹝哌^去，以為自己認(rèn)識(shí)，可在考場上真的一較真就未必真的知道。這必然是一件十分危險(xiǎn)的事情。因此從今天我們每天都一起來學(xué)習(xí)5個(gè)面熟生詞，為你的GRE考試加油打氣。
1 backwater n. 一潭死水;沉寂不活躍;停滯
這個(gè)詞總給人以后海的幻想，注意趕緊打消這個(gè)念頭，這個(gè)叫做停滯或落后的意思。
If you refer to a place or institution as a backwater, you think it is not developing properly because it is isolated from ideas and events in other places and institutions.
例句： The destruction of the western Roman Empire led to a political and economic fragmentation that made western Europe an economic backwater for half a millennium.
2 moonshine n. 空談;紙上談兵
晚上的月光亮起來了，別幻想了，打住吧!快看英文解釋。moonshine 就是empty talk 的意思。
If you say that someone's thoughts, ideas, or comments are moonshine, you think they are foolish and not based on reality.

3 brainchild n. 辛苦想出來的點(diǎn)子;想法
如果你的腦子生出了孩子，太可怕啦，沒關(guān)系，不是腦殘也不是腦瘤，而是你辛辛苦苦想出來的東西!
Someone's brainchild is an idea or invention that they have thought up or created.

4 deadpan adj. 面無表情的 n. 故意板臉搞笑
一個(gè)要死的平底鍋?別逗了，這就是冰冰上課常見的，板著臉!所以deadpan這個(gè)反義詞，就是我們上課經(jīng)常提到的demonstrative或者expressive。 demonstrative哪里見過?忘了小時(shí)代的經(jīng)典片段了嗎?undemonstrative panache!
而我們經(jīng)常也會(huì)說deadpan humor。
Deadpan humor is when you appear to be serious and are hiding the fact that you are joking or teasing someone.
5 sidestep v. 回避，繞開
