從 1949年開始，中華人民共和國正式定每年6月1日為國際兒童節(jié)。學(xué)校一般會為此組織相關(guān)的集體活動，并要求學(xué)生正式著裝(普及校服前為白襯衣藍(lán)線褲)香港現(xiàn)時雖屬共和國一部份，但民間在約定俗成下，香港兒童節(jié)的日期與中國臺灣的兒童節(jié)日期一樣，即4月4日。民間慶祝的方式多以送玩具禮物給小朋友，或陪小孩出外吃大餐或游玩。
