第4課：broke; lame
[流行美語]又和大家見面了。Michael和李華這兩個(gè)大學(xué)生今天在 紐約的百老匯逛馬路。那里戲院很多。李華看到一個(gè) 劇院在演歌 舞劇[音樂之聲]，于是她苦苦哀求Michael陪她去看。Michael 在學(xué)中 文。他喜歡李華跟他講中文，可以讓他練習(xí)聽力。他在今天的對話 里會(huì)用到"broke"和“l(fā)ame"這兩個(gè)詞。
L： Michael，你看，這個(gè)劇院在演[音樂之聲]！我一直想看這個(gè)歌 舞劇。
M: I know, it's a popular show.
L: 誰都喜歡[音樂之聲]。Michael，今天晚上我們沒有功課，我們?nèi)?看，好嗎？
M: Sorry, Li Hua, I'm broke. Maybe another time.
L: Broke? 你受傷啦？
M: No, no, no! I did not break anything. Here broke means to have no money.

L: 噢， 要是你的膝蓋受傷了，你就可以說：My knee is shot; 要是你的肩膀受了傷，那你就說：My shoulder is shot.
M: Let's go rent a car. I don't want our whole day to be shot.

M: When you pay for dinner at a restaurant, you can ask: What's the damage?
