It is a great pleasure for me to congratulate the Peoples Republic of China on its 60 years anniversary.
值此中華人民共和國成立六十周年華誕，我很高興送上自己的祝福。
Denmark was the first Western country of the allied nations to recognise the Peoples Republic of China in 1950. Shortly afterwards Denmark established its Embassy here in Beijing and China established its embassy in Copenhagen. Since then, the Danish Government has continuously maintained a firm and unequivocal one-China Policy in support of the PRC.
1950年，丹麥成為西方盟國中第一個正式承認中華人民共和國的國家。之后不久，丹麥在北京建立了駐華大使館，中國也在哥本哈根建立了大使館。長期以來，丹麥政府始終堅定不移的支持中華人民共和國的一個中國政策。
Since 1949, China has come a long way. Hundreds of millions have been lifted out of poverty. Chinese citizens have a much freer choice in terms of how they want to lead their lives. China's economy is strong and growing and China is playing a greater role in world affairs. These positive developments started with the creation of the PRC, greatly accelerated by the policy of reform and opening-up adopted in 1978.
自1949年以來，特別是1978年以來，中國發(fā)展迅速，數(shù)以千萬的人擺脫了貧困，而中國人民有更多的自主權(quán)去選擇自己的生活方式，中國正在世界事務(wù)中發(fā)揮更加重要的作用。
In the last few years, the Chinese government has focused more on creating a harmonious society based on the scientific concept of development. China now puts more emphasis on balanced economic growth and on reducing the cost to the environment. Also in this respect, China is now developing very rapidly. China is now emerging as a world leader in green technology and China is expected to play an important role at the UN meeting on climate change in Copenhagen this December, as you know, this is the meeting that should adopt a new global agreement in combating climate change for the years to come.
在過去的幾年里，中國政府一直注重經(jīng)濟的平衡發(fā)展和減少對環(huán)境的負面影響。中國已成為世界綠色科技的領(lǐng)頭羊。今年12月在丹麥首都哥本哈根氣候召開的聯(lián)合國氣候大會上，中國又將承擔(dān)重要角色。
Denmark welcomes and applauds the success of China. We believe that what is good for China is also good for the world. We believe that it is right for China to play a greater role internationally. And we believe that China has a lot to contribute.
丹麥為中國的成就感到由衷的高興。我們相信，對中國有益的即對世界有益，中國應(yīng)該在世界上承擔(dān)更加重要的角色，我們相信中國將會做出更大貢獻。
In conclusion, let me extend all my best wishes for the People’s Republic of China and for its ambitious and hard working people, including the netizens of the People's Daily. I wish you happiness, prosperity and success. And I hope and expect that you will achieve just as much in the next 60 years as you have achieved until now.
