    [考點] 辨析below, under和beneath
    below所指的范圍較寬，指處于比某物低的位置，不一定是正下方，且有一定距離，其反義詞是above；under指在某物體的正下方，所指的范圍較窄，其反義詞是over；beneath相當于below和under，但它是較舊的用法，現(xiàn)在很少用。如：

    besides是個非常容易考得詞，但只要熟練區(qū)別besides，except和except for，一切就變得容易了。
    [考點] 辨析except，except for，besides和but
    except作“除……外”講時，表示不包括在內(nèi)；besides作“除……以外”講時，表示“除了……，還包括……”；except和besides連接的主體類型一致，但except for（除……以外）連接的是部分與整體的關系；but相當于except。

    昨天晚上除了湯姆外，我們都去看電影了。（湯姆沒去看）
