Don't get sidetracked
    A new catchphrase mentioned by President Hu Jintao at a conference celebrating the 30th anniversary of China's adoption of the reform and opening up initiative. When talking about the country's ambitious goal of building a more prosperous, modern and democratic society in the future, President Hu pointed out that the goal would surely come true if "we don't sway back and forth, don't relax our efforts, and don't get sidetracked on our way to constructing a socialist society with Chinese characteristics".Since then, the phrase has made headlines in newspapers across the country.
    "Don't get sidetracked" is expected to be a guideline embraced by the Communist Party of China （CPC） in its leading the once-suffering Chinese nation to realize a much-anticipated national rejuvenation.
    胡錦濤總書記在紀(jì)念黨的十一屆三中全會(huì)召開(kāi)30周年大會(huì)上發(fā)表講話時(shí)指出，“只要我們不動(dòng)搖、不懈怠、不折騰，堅(jiān)定不移地推進(jìn)改革開(kāi)放，堅(jiān)定不移地走中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義道路，就一定能夠勝利實(shí)現(xiàn)宏偉藍(lán)圖和奮斗目標(biāo)”。
    在國(guó)新辦舉行的2008年內(nèi)最后一場(chǎng)新聞發(fā)布會(huì)上，有記者向國(guó)新辦主任王晨提問(wèn)“你怎么看”時(shí)，王晨說(shuō)，他也注意到在大會(huì)上總書記講到“不動(dòng)搖、不懈怠、不折騰”的時(shí)候，全場(chǎng)都發(fā)出會(huì)心的笑聲，表達(dá)了大家對(duì)總書記重要講話的衷心贊同。
    王晨說(shuō)，“我覺(jué)得胡錦濤總書記在這樣一個(gè)嚴(yán)肅的大會(huì)上，代表黨中央這樣一個(gè)重要的講話中，總結(jié)30年的經(jīng)驗(yàn)、體會(huì)，說(shuō)到‘不折騰’，我個(gè)人的理解就是表達(dá)了全黨、全國(guó)人民總結(jié)30年的改革開(kāi)放巨大成就，最根本的就是堅(jiān)定不移地走中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義道路，堅(jiān)定不移地堅(jiān)持中國(guó)特色社會(huì)主義理論體系，就是這樣一條道路，不是別的什么道路，就是這樣一個(gè)理論體系，不是別的什么理論。”
    王晨總結(jié)稱，“不折騰”就是要我們沿著這條道路、這樣一個(gè)方向繼續(xù)奮勇前進(jìn)，確實(shí)說(shuō)出了全國(guó)人民的心聲、全黨的共同意志。
