new，newly
    基本上new是形容詞，newly是副詞，二者不同，但new除作形容詞外，在一些特定的詞組里也可用作副詞，雖然在近代英語(yǔ)中，new作副詞的用法已廢去，但在復(fù)合形容詞中，它常與過(guò)去分詞連用，修飾后面的名詞，此時(shí)，它很易和newly混淆。
    一般說(shuō)來(lái)，new在一些慣用特定的復(fù)合形容詞中例如new-born child、new-laid eggs、new-baked bread、new-found pride、new-fallen leaves、new-fangled gadgets、new-fashioned clothes…。其他可自由加上表示“新的”形容詞就用newly，例如：newly-appointed president、newly-married couple、newly-furnished rooms、newly-invented gimmicks、newly issued stamps、newly published books等。
