Location: University of Lund, Sweden invites applications for one postdoctoral position (2 years will possibility of extension) in the laboratory of Assistant Professor Joanne Attema in the Department of Experimental Medical Science, Lund Stem Cell Center (http://www.stemcellcenter.se) and Hemato-Linne Program (http://www.med.lu.se/hemato_linne). The positions are scheduled to start as soon as possible.
Description: The successful candidates will conduct research on epigenetic control of hematopoietic stem cells and early fate decisions. The latest innovative tools including miniaturized ChIP-chip, DNA methylation analysis, microRNA and shRNA approaches and the extensive use of mouse models will be utilized in order to address our various questions focusing on the molecular and cellular understanding of blood disorders. Refer to the following publications (Attema et al., 2007 PNAS and Pronk et al., 2007 Cell Stem Cell).
Qualifications: Highly motivated, talented individuals pursuing a career in life sciences are encouraged to apply. An interest and knowledge in molecular biology, stem cell biology and/or bioinformatics is required. It will be an advantage if the candidates have experience in fields of chromatin biology and bioinformatics.
Salary: Commensurate with qualifications and experience based on the Lund University Employment Conditions.
