趙財(cái)和他的朋友李富都是有名的吝嗇鬼。
    第「1」串：penny pincher / miser 吝嗇鬼
    He is such a penny pincher in people's eyes that he has never treated anyone for a meal.
    一天，趙財(cái)要去看李富，帶點(diǎn)禮物吧，舍不得花錢，不帶吧，又覺得不體面。想了半天，便拿起一張紙來，用剪子剪成一條魚的樣子，準(zhǔn)備作禮物送給李富。
    第「2」串：reputation 聲譽(yù)，體面
    He is a person of reputation, so it is easy to understand why he was angry when being mocked in public.
    趙財(cái)?shù)搅死罴?，可巧李富出門，只有他兒子在家。趙財(cái)拿出紙魚來說：“這條魚是給你爸爸帶來的酒菜，小意思，收下吧！”李富兒子接過紙魚，心里很不高興，暗暗盤算報(bào)復(fù)一下。
    第「3」串：retaliate 報(bào)復(fù)
    Don't always think about retaliating upon your enemies. Why not make them your friends?
    趙財(cái)要告辭，李富兒子說：“大伯，你把這塊月餅帶上吧！好在路上吃?！闭f著用雙手比作一個(gè)大圓圈，在趙財(cái)眼前一晃。 李富回家來，兒子把這事一說，滿以為會(huì)夸獎(jiǎng)他一番。
    第「4」串：compliment 夸獎(jiǎng)
    He had thought that he could receive many compliments from his friends on what he had done.
    誰知李富一聽就生氣了，用一只手比作半個(gè)圓圈罵道：“你這敗家子，誰叫你給他個(gè)整的？難道半塊還不行嗎？趕快給我追回來！”
    第「5」串：black sheep 敗家子
    A black sheep never worries about the difficulty of earning money.
