    誠(chéng)實(shí)就是說(shuō)老實(shí)話，辦老實(shí)事，做老實(shí)人。誠(chéng)實(shí)在任何地方都是倍受仰慕的美德，而不誠(chéng)實(shí)卻遭人們唾棄和譴責(zé)。
    正如諺語(yǔ)所說(shuō)，誠(chéng)實(shí)是上策。如果你想被朋友信任、尊敬、你就得誠(chéng)實(shí)。一個(gè)撒謊的人總被旁人看低和提防。的確，各行各業(yè)也都意識(shí)到誠(chéng)信的重要性。比如，商人的誠(chéng)實(shí)是否買賣公平，一個(gè)醫(yī)生的誠(chéng)實(shí)就是他置人道主義高于一切的天職;就大學(xué)生而言，誠(chéng)實(shí)意味著既追求學(xué)業(yè)的真實(shí)又要追求道德修養(yǎng)的真實(shí)。以當(dāng)今的社會(huì)標(biāo)準(zhǔn)來(lái)衡量，一位純潔正直的畢業(yè)生要比一個(gè)腦子好但品行膚淺的畢業(yè)生對(duì)社會(huì)更有用。

    Honesty means speaking the truth and being fair and upright in act. It is regarded as the most important virtue admired everywhere, while dishonesty is generally despised and condemned as an evil.
    As the proverb goes, honesty is the best policy. If you want to be trusted and respected by your friends, you must be honest. A liar is always looked down upon and avoided by the people around him. Definitely, all trades and professions also realize the importance of honesty. For instance, a businessman’s honesty lies in whether he plays fair in all of his dealings. Honesty in a doctor is his bounden duty to put humanitarianism above everything else. As far as a college student is concerned, honesty means seeking as much truth from his moral development as from his academic success. By social standards of today, an honesty-to-goodness graduate is of more value to society than the one who is long on brains but short on morality.
    In my eyes, honest people deserve praising admittedly, what the most important thing we can do is to do everything, be it small or big, from ourselves. At the same time, we, ourselves, should enhance personal quality, only if a man’s all-round ability has been improved, can be a man of trust one.
