    什么是GRE數(shù)學(xué)中的word problem?
    GRE數(shù)學(xué)中的Word Problem，也就是考生因?yàn)闊o法正確理解題目所表達(dá)的意思，而造成的解題過程中的偏差所導(dǎo)致的各類錯(cuò)誤。這類文字問題主要可以分為三種：第一種是部分?jǐn)?shù)學(xué)專用詞匯沒有背出來，直接看不懂題目;第二種是沒有讀完題目就急著做題，被最后的問題細(xì)節(jié)要求所坑;第三種則是對(duì)于一些題目的英文表達(dá)方式存在錯(cuò)誤理解，不熟悉特定的說法。對(duì)于中國考生來說，由于英語并非母語，因此就更容易因?yàn)槲淖謫栴}而造成意外扣分。
    GRE數(shù)學(xué)文字題真題講解

    1. Positive integer n is equal to the difference of the squares of x and y, where x and y are integers. If n is equal to 21, then which of the following could be the sum of x and y?

    解析：這道題的文字問題在于句末的could be，由于題目本身并沒有限定x和y必須是正整數(shù)(positive integer)，只說整數(shù)，那么x和y都可以即是10，11又是-10，-11，這樣至少就有了四種組合。同時(shí)25-4同樣滿足條件，即x和y還是分別是5，-5和2，-2。因此兩者之和的組合總共有八組。而其中唯一滿足5個(gè)選項(xiàng)中數(shù)值的只有C的-1，也就是10和-11的組合。所以大家一定要注意could be這樣表示非唯一解的文字提示詞。
