    stand， cope， approve ， retain
    “stand”表示“忍受”，相當(dāng)于“withstand”(抵抗)或者“bear”(忍受)。“cope”表示“處理，應(yīng)付”?！癮pprove”表示“同意，贊成”?！皉etain”表示“保留，保持”，相當(dāng)于“hold within”或者“keep”。
    raise ，add ， take ， keep
    “raise”表示“提高增加”的時候，相當(dāng)于“to increase in size, quantity, or worth”?！癮dd”(增加、添加)它的意思是“join or combine or unite with others to increase the quality, quantity, size or scope”，也就是說，是和別的東西加在一起。比如：“add fuel to the flame”(火上加油)，“add insult to injury”(凌辱交加)等等。“ take”拿走“keep“保持
    cover ，change，range，differ
    “cover”表示穿過一段距離，或者覆蓋一片面積?！癱hange from A to B”的意思是“從A變化到B”?！皉ange”這個單詞經(jīng)常被用來表示范圍，表示“在……范圍內(nèi)變動，在某一特定的范圍內(nèi)變化”。比如：“ages that range from two to five”(兩歲至五歲年齡段)。所以“range”適合本題。“differ”后面接介詞的時候，通常用“A differ from B in…” 這個結(jié)構(gòu)。
    inflate ，expand ，increase，extend
    “inflate”(膨脹)，這個單詞的原意指的是“充氣”，后來被用來表示“過分地或不合適地夸大或夸張”，“不當(dāng)?shù)馗邼q”，可以用來表示經(jīng)濟(jì)上的通貨膨脹也可以用來表示某種情感過于流露，比如：“inflate with pride”(洋洋得意)，但是我們不能說數(shù)字膨脹。“expand”的意思是“to increase in size, area, volume, bulk, or range”，即“指在大小、面積、容積、體積或范圍等方面的增長”，例句：“He does exercises to expand his chest?！?他做鍛煉以擴(kuò)大胸肌)?！癷ncrease”在英語中，如要表示數(shù)目上升的時候，用的就是“increase”?！癳xtend”指的是“加大空間、加長時間或擴(kuò)大范圍”，“to lengthen in space or time or to broaden in range”，通常翻譯成“延長”，例句：“the extended meaning of a word”(詞匯的引申意義)，“to extend (or lengthen) a road” (延長道路)，“to extend (or lengthen) one's stay”(延長某人的逗留)。顯然這里不適合數(shù)字。
