二、歷史沿革
1980年，南洋大學(xué)和新加坡大學(xué)合并，成立新加坡國立大學(xué)。

Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine (LKCSoM)
The Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, a partnership between NTU and Imperial College London, will train a generation of doctors who will put patients at the centre of their exemplary medical care. Graduates of the five-year undergraduate medical degree programme beginning in 2013 will have a strong understanding of the scientific basis of medicine, along with interdisciplinary subjects including business management and technology. The school, named after local philanthropist Dato Sri Lee Kong Chian, aims to be a future model for innovative medical education. Its first doctors will graduate in 2018 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), awarded jointly by NTU and Imperial College London.
Interdisciplinary Graduate School (IGS)
The Interdisciplinary Graduate School (IGS) focuses on the key research areas within NTU's Peaks of Excellence in Sustainable Earth, Secure Community, Healthy Society and Global Asia. Research in these areas span across different disciplines beyond the conventional school-based programmes. IGS leverages on professors from all the schools and colleges in NTU to undertake interdisciplinary research and to act as advisors for IGS PhD students.

As a leading university, research is integral to NTU. It has a vibrant research culture and has created a name internationally for its work in fields such as advanced materials, biomedical engineering, clean energy and environment, computational biology, intelligent systems, nanotechnology and wireless and broadband communication.
The strong research culture has resulted in many world-first inventions. In order to continue to contribute and excel at the highest level, NTU through its Institute of Advanced Studies (IAS) has formed an advisory panel of several Nobel laureates.

Chinese Heritage?
- The Chinese Heritage Centre (CHC) was founded in 1995 to advance knowledge and understanding of the ethnic Chinese communities in different parts of the world. Established as a non-profit organization, the Centre’s work is guided by an international Board of Governors. The current Board Chairman is Professor Su Guaning, President Emeritus of Nanyang Technological University. The Centre’s Deputy Chairman is Professor Wang Gungwu, Chairman of the East Asian Institute, National University of Singapore and former Vice Chancellor of the University of Hong Kong.

- The aim of the NTU Art & Heritage Museum is to foster a strong appreciation of art and heritage as an integral part of a well-rounded education and to inspire the highest achievement in artistic and creative expression amongst staff and students.
