UC Irvine scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate a high level of academic achievement. Additionally, some scholarships are awarded with respect to financial need or other specific criteria such as city of residence, major or special skills.
Academic achievements, leadership positions, campus or community activities, work experience and financial need, where indicated, are taken into account during the scholarship selection process.
The UC Irvine scholarships are designed to reward, encourage, and assist students in pursuing academic excellence and leadership roles.

Regents' Scholarship for Entering Freshmen
The Regents' Scholarship is the most prestigious scholarship UC Irvine offers to freshmen entering from high school.
Award Amount
The amount of the award is established each year.
Benefits
In addition to the scholarship award, Regents' Scholars also receive other benefits from the University. Regents' Scholars receive a priority window for class registration, graduate level library privileges, Regents' Scholar notation on official transcripts and an offer of guaranteed on-campus housing.
Application Process
The Regents' Scholarship is awarded based on the information gathered on the UC Application for Admission and Scholarships. No additional materials are required nor considered in the selection process. To be considered for the Regents' Scholarship, you must apply for fall admission by November 30. Applicants for winter or spring quarter are not eligible.
Be sure to complete all required sections of the application, especially the "Release Authorization" section. This section authorizes the University to release your qualifying information to outside agencies for additional scholarship consideration.
Selection Process
The selection committee conducts a comprehensive review of the applicant pool to determine the student's strength and breadth of academic preparation. Selection is based on a comprehensive review of the admissions application, including, but not limited to test scores and grades. To be eligible for the Regents' Scholarship you must be a U.S. citizen, an eligible non-citizen, an international student with a valid visa or students qualifying under AB130 or AB131. Only students who fall under these categories are eligible for the Regents' Scholarship.
Award Notification
Award notifications will be sent out to freshman recipients in early March.
Continuing Eligibility for Scholarship
Freshmen Regents' Scholars are eligible to renew their scholarship for an additional three years (total of four years). To renew the scholarship, students must maintain a cumulative GPA of 3.25 and complete a minimum of 12 units per quarter. Appeals and exceptions are reviewed on a case by case basis.

UCI Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship
The UCI Alumni Association offers an endowed scholarship for new freshmen and transfer students. This merit-based scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate academic excellence, community service and leadership potential.
Application for the UCI Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship is by invitation only. After students submit their Statement of Intent to Register (SIR) by the deadline, those who meet the qualifications will be invited to apply for the scholarship. Freshman and Transfer applicants require a minimum GPA of 3.65. Eligible students will be notified via an e-mail that will include the application and information regarding the selection process.
Please note that the UCI Alumni Association Endowed Scholarship is not administered by the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships. All inquiries should be directed to the UCI Alumni Association.
American Association of University Women (AAUW) Laguna Beach Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,500
Application Submission Process: Applicants will complete the American Association of University Women Laguna Beach to bahamkal@uci.edu.
The American Association of University Women (AAUW) scholarship is awarded to mature female students who have experienced a break in attendance in their educational career due to circumstances beyond their control.
AAUW is aware that some women must leave college before understanding their degrees due to circumstances beyond their control. The Laguna Beach Branch of AAUW has established a scholarship program to assist such women as they re-enter an academic program. The scholarship is designed to support a woman attending the University of California, Irvine majoring in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics). Eligible schools at UCI are: School of Biological Sciences, School of Engineering, School of Information and Computer Sciences and the School of Physical Sciences.
Eligibility Requirements:
Undergraduate female student in a STEM discipline
Experienced a break in her attendance at a California Community College, California State University or University of California due to circumstances beyond her control
Minimum 3.0 GPA

Financial need and academic standing will be considered in the selection process for all scholarship applicants.
Official documents must be presented to verify the student's parent enlistment or honorable discharge. (i.e. enlistment records, honorable discharge certificates, certification letter from the Veterans Administration). Photocopies are acceptable
La Verne Noyes Scholarship

The scholarship is awarded to a recipient who is a U.S. Citizen and is a blood descendant of a United States Army or United States Navy World War I veteran. Veteran must have served for at least four (4) months prior to November 11, 1918. Veteran's military service must have been terminated by death or an honorable discharge.

The Mabel Wilson Richards Scholarship

Award Amount: $1,000 (multiple awards)
Application Submission Process: Submit the Mabel Wilson Richards Scholarship application to the Office of Financial Aid and Scholarships in 102 Aldrich Hall. . Students must also complete the following:
Submit a 2017-18 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the federal processor by March 2. The FAFSA application is available on the web at www.fafsa.gov.
Submit additional documentation as required.
This scholarship was created by the will of the late Mabel Wilson Richards and a court decree. By the terms of the will, the income from the trust assets may be used only to provide financial assistance for the education of worthy and needy girls who reside in one of the cities on the attached list. No student shall consider that this scholarship is granted until formal reply is made by the trustees following the recommendation made by the college.
Eligibility Requirements
Reside in one of the cities listed on the application. Residency is determined in the same manner as that of the University of California and the California State Colleges.
Have been accepted for admission by an accredited college listed on the application.
Demonstrate need for monetary assistance at the college of her choice for the current quarter/academic year.
Demonstrate high moral character and good citizenship.
Complete a Financial Aid Application with the college she is currently attending and have been identified as eligible for financial assistance.
Be a citizen of the United States, or, if under 21 and not a citizen, either or both of her parents must be admitted on a permanent resident visa.
A student enrolling on campus for the first time must have earned a grade point average of B or higher in her last two years of high school, or her first year in college. Any undergraduate recipient of funds must carry at least 12 letter-grade units each quarter, or 36 annually, and must achieve and maintain a B or better average. A student may receive the scholarship more than once.
Comply with all the rules and regulations as stated in the Will provisions for the administration of this scholarship.
