    To apply for admission, an international student must complete all the application requirements for first-year admission along with the following additional requirements: English proficiency and Financial Certification.

    【原文】English Proficiency Requirements for Undergraduate Entry
    Applicants who do not use English as their primary language must demonstrate the ability to be successful in a rigorous English-medium academic curriculum. Applicants must be fluent in written and spoken English at the time they apply to Emory University. The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) is highly recommended when English is not the native language of the student; however, students for whom English is not the native language can also demonstrate exceptional command of the English language through the following criteria:
    The student achieves a 650 Critical Reading score on the SAT Examination
    The student has spent the most recent four years of high school where English is the language of instruction for all academic subjects (excluding foreign language.)
    A student who resides in a country where a TOEFL testing center is not accessible can be exempt from the examination. Additionally, the International English Language Testing System, (IELTS), is an acceptable examination as well and may be submitted in lieu of the TOEFL examination.
    A score of 100 on the Internet-based TOEFL (iBT) an overall band score of 7.0 on the IELTS is expected for all applicants though these scores are not used as cut-offs and review of English language proficiency is viewed in the context of each application. The highest total score of a single sitting will be used if the student elects to take an exam more than once.
    The review of all applicants is holistic and close attention will be paid to the strength of the high school curriculum, achievement in the classroom over time, TOEFL/IELTS results, SAT Critical Reading and SAT Writing sections for applicants for whom English is not the native language.

    【原文】Financial Certification
    As an international applicant, you are required to certify that you have sufficient funds to cover your expenses while attending Emory University. You will need to download a copy of the International/Financial Certification form (FIF), which should be completed and returned to the Office of Admission. We also will accept a note or statement from your bank or financial institution as proof of sufficient funding.
    If you have been issued a resident alien registration number (permanent residency or green card) since sending in your application, you will need to send a copy of it to our office to change your status. If you have applied for permanent residency status but have not yet received your green card, you still will need to fill out the financial form and send in a copy of your permanent residency application. If you have further questions concerning the FIF or the status of your file, or if you are on any other type of visa (such as E, H, or L), which may not require you to be issued an I-20, please contact our office at 0011.404.727.6036.
