    Fred Farmer has a lot of friends in the city and is very popular with the neighbourhood kids. Everyone remembers him as a professional baseball player. Fred used to be with a team in Los Angeles several years ago.He had to give up baseball when he injured his arm in an automobile accident. At the time,everyone expected him to take a job at his father's ice cream factory. But Fred would rather eat ice cream than sell it. Once he tried working for an insurance company downtown. He had to be on the job at 8:30 in the morning. but that was too early for Fred and he quit after the first month. Besides, he didn't like being in an office all day.
    Nowadays, Fred spends most of his time in the park. He enjoys teaching boys in the neighbourhood how to play baseball. Whenever Fred needs a little money he sells hot dogs at the sports stadium.

    現(xiàn)在，佛瑞德的大部分時間都在公園里度過。他樂于教鄰近的小孩怎么打棒球。需要一點錢的時候，他就在體育館賣熱狗。
